WHAT WE THINK
We recently took the Common Gear Ultralight Repair Kit with us on a hike along the South Downs Way, and it proved to be a small but essential part of our gear. While we hoped not to have to use it, it’s one of those things you’re always glad to have in your pack—especially when you're hiking for several days through varied terrain where anything can happen.
We found the Gorilla Tape and the Kevlar needle and thread to be particularly useful when we ran into a couple of gear problems. One of us had a small tear in a jacket, and the Gorilla Tape worked wonders for a quick fix—sticking firmly and holding up well despite the weather. For a more permanent repair, we used the Kevlar needle and thread to stitch up the tear, and the strength of the Kevlar thread made sure it held up well over the remaining days on the trail.
