Established in 1901, Northern Feather emerged as the first Danish company exclusively dedicated to down and feathers. Initially involved in trading, the company transitioned to developing its own range of products, including duvets, quilts, and pillows, positioning itself as a prominent player in the global down and feather industry.
In 1967, Nordisk Freizeit was established as a subsidiary of Northern Feather, targeting the burgeoning outdoor market. Throughout the 1970s and 1980s, Nordisk played a pivotal role in shaping the nascent European outdoor sector. Operating under the brand name Caravan, Nordisk expanded its presence with subsidiary companies in Germany, Denmark, Sweden, and the UK, earning recognition for its innovative and stylish offerings.
In 1991, the brand transitioned to Nordisk, aligning with its rich history and legacy. While maintaining its European roots, Nordisk has recently ventured beyond the continent's borders, extending its reach to countries as distant as Japan and Korea.
