AeroPress was founded by inventor and engineer Alan Adler, who has been creating innovative tools since he was 13 years old. His early career involved designing systems for high-tech companies as an electrical engineer. Alan also had a passion for sailboats, which led him to teach himself aerodynamics and design notable sailboats like the Fast-40 and the racing ketch Etosha.
In 2003, Alan turned his attention to coffee making, driven by his dissatisfaction with home coffee makers. He began experimenting with brewing methods to create a device that could produce a single cup of good coffee. After extensive research and over 30 prototypes, Alan introduced the AeroPress coffee maker. The AeroPress has since been praised for its ability to brew coffee with excellent flavour.
