ULTRALIGHT BACKPACKING TROWEL WITH SUPER TOUGH AIRCRAFT-GRADE ALUMINIUM

Tackle rocky soil confidently with this backpacking trowel, designed to withstand tough digging without bending or damaging the tip. The sharp edge slices cleanly through turf and small roots, while the serrated sides handle medium roots with ease. The UV-resistant plastic end cap, secured by two stainless steel screws, offers both comfort and digging power, letting you use full force without the handle pressing into your palm.

Strategically placed holes along the spine improve grip, and you can thread a rope through the centre holes to use it as a deadman anchor. It also serves as a versatile spare tent stake, shoehorn, or even a flyswatter!

Pocket-sized and weighing just 13.5g, these trowels are treated with natural oil to prevent corrosion, avoiding the harmful chemicals involved in anodising. Over time, its surface will show wear, giving the trowel a unique, rustic aesthetic as it ages.

Avoid using this tool near fire, as exposure to open flame will alter the heat treatment of the metal, weakening its durability.

  • WHAT WE THINK

We recently took the BoglerCo Ultralight Backpacking Trowel on a hiking trip along the Cleveland Way, and it was a surprisingly handy tool for keeping our camping setup as lightweight and efficient as possible. At just around 14 grams, it’s one of the lightest trowels on the market, making it a no-brainer for anyone looking to save weight while still being prepared. When you’re carrying everything on your back, every gram counts, and this trowel delivered on that front without compromising on usability.

The long handle made digging cat holes much easier than we expected, and the wide, spade-like head helped us to quickly break up soil, which can sometimes be a bit more challenging in rocky or dry areas. On our trip, we found it worked well even in the tougher ground where the soil can be a bit more compact and rocky. It’s not going to replace a full garden spade, of course, but for backpacking purposes, it did exactly what we needed.

All in all, the BoglerCo Ultralight Backpacking Trowel is an excellent piece of gear for anyone looking to keep their backpacking kit light and functional. It’s durable, easy to use, and does exactly what it’s designed to do without taking up much room or adding much weight to your pack. For the price and weight, it’s hard to beat—highly recommended for hikers who need a reliable, lightweight tool to take care of business on the trail.
