For a relatively small outlay the Flexmat Plus can be used as a great way of extending your 3 Seasons air mat to be part of a winter sleep system. For example place your air mat with a R-Value of 3 on top of the Flexmat Plus with R-Value of 2.2 and get the R-Value equivalent of 5.2 (Typical operating temperature down to -20°C).

Another benefit of using the 2 mat system in the winter is, should your inflatable mat develop a puncture, you at least have some reasonable protection from the cold from your FlexMat Plus.
