WHAT WE THINK
At Valley and Peak, we’ve had the chance to test out the Big Agnes Tiger Wall UL2. This tent is a solid choice for hikers who want to keep their pack weight low without compromising on space or comfort. It’s light enough to make it ideal for long-distance hikers, but still offers a spacious and comfortable setup for two people.
Setting up the Tiger Wall UL2 is a breeze, thanks to the poles and simple design. It’s easy to pitch even when you’re in a rush or the weather’s not great. We really appreciated how the full-coverage rainfly kept us dry during rainstorms, while the mesh body allowed for good ventilation on warmer nights, keeping condensation to a minimum. The overall design feels sturdy for a tent this light, handling 3-season conditions well—it's perfect for spring, summer trips.
That said, one downside of the Tiger Wall UL2 is the floor material. While the tent is impressively light, the 15D nylon floor is relatively thin and could wear down faster on rough, rocky ground. If you’re camping on rugged terrain, you’ll definitely want to use a footprint to help protect the floor from abrasion. It's a small trade-off for the weight savings, but it’s something to keep in mind if you plan on camping in more rugged areas.
Overall, the Tiger Wall UL2 Solution Dye is a solid choice for backpackers who want a lightweight, eco-friendly tent that doesn’t skimp on comfort. The space, ventilation, and ease of setup make it perfect for 3-season trips, and the dual vestibules are a nice touch for extra gear storage. If you’re looking for an efficient, environmentally conscious shelter for your next adventure, this tent is definitely worth considering. -
