WHAT WE THINK
After taking the Durston Gear X-Mid 2 Solid Ultralight Tent on several trips, we can confidently say it’s quickly become one of our favourite shelters at Valley and Peak HQ. The setup is straightforward and quick, thanks to the two-pole symmetrical design—we love how easy it is to get the tent up, even after a long day.
Once pitched, the tent feels surprisingly spacious inside, offering plenty of headroom and room for two, plus gear. It’s also surprisingly stable in gusty winds, which we’ve experienced in places like the Pembrokeshire Coastal path and wild camping in Snowdonia.
Overall, the X-Mid 2 Solid has proven to be a reliable, comfortable shelter that’s ideal for our wild camping trips, and we’ve been consistently impressed by its ability to handle the often unpredictable conditions we face here in the UK. -
