Outdoor Research Men's Foray 3L Waterproof Pants
THE FORAY 3L PANTS ARE OUR BEST-SELLING THREE-LAYER RAIN SHELL, PROVIDING HIGH-PERFORMANCE PROTECTION IN THE HARSHES WEATHER.
The Foray features an all-new stretchy three-layer 100% recycled nylon shell and Nikwax's Direct.Dry, a high-performance, durable factory-applied DWR, exclusive to our Foray/Aspire Collection. Our AscentShell™ Dry technology offers superior breathability, waterproofing, and wind resistance, keeping moisture out while allowing sweat vapour to escape and regulate body temperature. With mechanical stretch, articulated knees, and a gusseted crotch, the Foray delivers unrestricted movement. Full seam taping and YKK® Aquaguard® zippers keep moisture at bay, and 3/4-length side zippers make for easy on-and-off, even over footwear. When the weather clears, the pants can be stowed in their back pocket and clipped to a harness or backpack daisy chain.
Ideal for hiking in the rain, cycling in tough conditions, or weekend adventures, the Foray 3L Pants offer reliable wet-weather protection and are the most sustainable rain pants we’ve ever made.

reviews
"I've had several pairs of rain pants from other manufacturers over the years and these are the best so far. They don't restrict my leg movements, don't leak, and are easy to get on and off. The rise is high, so you have good overlap with your top and the waist drawstring seems sturdy enough, although I pair them with suspenders also."

what we think
The Outdoor Research Men’s Foray 3L Waterproof Pants are a solid choice for walkers and climbers who need dependable waterproof protection without compromising on comfort or breathability. At Valley and Peak, we find these trousers well suited to the wet and changeable conditions often experienced across the UK.
Made from a three-layer Gore-Tex fabric, the Foray pants offer excellent waterproofing and wind resistance while allowing moisture to escape during high-output activities. The design is straightforward but thoughtful, with articulated knees and an adjustable waistband that provide a good fit and freedom of movement when scrambling or hiking.
The trousers include features such as full-length side zips, making them easy to put on and take off over boots without having to remove footwear. They also have reinforced fabric at the cuffs and seat to improve durability on rough ground or when sitting on damp surfaces.
While they are a little heavier and less packable than lighter waterproof shells, the Foray pants offer great long-term reliability and protection. They are ideal for those who want robust waterproof trousers for hillwalking, scrambling and mountain adventures in the UK’s wetter months.
In summary, the Outdoor Research Foray 3L Waterproof Pants deliver strong performance, comfort and durability. They are a reliable and practical choice for anyone seeking waterproof legwear that stands up to demanding weather and terrain. -
