REVIEWS
"Clever storage, extremely low weight, and innovative buckles make this tent king of the hills."
"The Spur is one of the largest solo 3-season tents I have encountered. I do not like the "coffin effect" that is so apparent with solo tents and the Spur does not fit in this category at all."

WHAT WE THINK
At Valley and Peak, we’ve tested a lot of ultralight solo tents, and the Big Agnes Copper Spur HV UL1 consistently stands out. This tent strikes a perfect balance between weight savings, comfort, and functionality, making it an excellent choice for minimalist backpackers and thru-hikers. We’ve found it to be incredibly easy to set up, thanks to the color-coded pole system and DAC Featherlite poles, which make pitching the tent a breeze—even for solo campers.
In terms of weather resistance, the Copper Spur HV UL1 performs well in 3-season conditions, offering solid protection against rain with its full-coverage rainfly and taped seams. The mesh panels allow for excellent ventilation, reducing condensation, while the fly vents help regulate airflow, keeping the interior comfortable on warmer nights. The tent handles moderate winds and rain with ease, but it’s not designed for extreme weather conditions, making it best suited for spring, summer, and autumn adventures.
While the Copper Spur HV UL1 offers excellent space and comfort for solo camping, one notable drawback is its vulnerable floor material. The 10D nylon floor is thin and can be prone to abrasion on rough or rocky terrain. If you're camping in areas with sharp rocks or uneven ground, we recommend using a footprint to protect the floor and extend the life of the tent. Despite this, the overall performance and lightweight design of the Copper Spur HV UL1 make it a top choice for those seeking a high-performance, ultralight solo tent that excels in moderate weather and backpacking conditions.
