The Exped Lightning 60 Backpack combines the spirit of thru-hiking with the carrying capacity of an internal frame pack. Its top-loading roll closure maximises weatherproofing while allowing the main compartment to expand, accommodating extra gear when needed.

The padded shoulder yoke, with sternum strap, slides along the the stay, allowing a wide range of vertical, micro-adjustment to precisely match the wearers torso length while reducing contact points to a minimum.

Stretch pouches on each side hold water bottles, trekking poles or tent poles and zippered stretch pockets on each hip belt wing hold small items for quick access.

A weather-resistant-zippered pocket at the top of the frame holds and gives access to a hydration reservoir.

A mesh inner pocket keeps valuables secure. A strong top haul loop and, a pair of ice axe loops and central daisy chain with attachment cords makes Lightning mountaineering capable.

Extremely lightweight nylon backpack fabric with the white HMPE (high modulus polyethylene) yarn ripstop structure and very nice hand feel. This fabric is the Gold Standard for light to ultra-light backpacks and shines with an extremely low weight (145g/m2) and incredible tear resistance due to ist additional HMPE thread creating the rip-stop structure. A PU coating with 1500 mm water column make the fabric highly water repelling. -
