What we think
I’ve been using the Fjällräven Abisko Friluft 35L for a few weekend trips now, and it’s quickly become one of my favourites. First off, it just looks great - classic Fjällräven style with that retro vibe and tough G-1000 Eco fabric. It's not waterproof by default, but you can wax it if you want extra protection, and there's a rain cover included for the really wet days.
Packing is easy thanks to the big zip-open main compartment, and that extendable lid is a game-changer when you need to quickly shove in a jacket or warm layer. There are loads of pockets too - hip belt pockets for your phone or snacks, a lid pocket for quick-access bits, and a big front one that’s great for maps. It’s got more space than I expected, and 35L is plenty for a couple of days away, especially if you pack light.
It’s comfy too, and the back panel lets air flow through so you’re not a sweaty mess by lunchtime. Overall, it’s practical, durable, and just nice to use. If you’re after something that works well and doesn’t scream "technical backpack," this is a solid shout. -
