  • REVIEWS

"I was looking for a sleeping pad that was reasonable to pack and use on long expeditions (weeks to months) on our research plots in Panama. This fit the bill. After having too many issues with air sleeping pads just failing outright in the field we have largely abandoned that type. These are great. Very comfy and workable in our Hennesy hammocks as well."

"We use this mat primarily for our dogs to sleep on with us when we are backpacking. This mat can take the abuse of their claws, and keeps them warm through cold nights"

" I've used this mat several times while backpacking and it's very comfortable. It covers a lot of the bumps under the tent. There isn't a lot of padding, but it's very nice."

  • WHAT WE THINK

At Valley and Peak, we've had the chance to test the Big Agnes TwisterCane Bio Foam Sleeping Mat on several of our trips including a winter trip to Sweden, and we’ve been really impressed with its durability.

By adding this foam layer underneath, you can help boost the R-value of your inflatable mat, providing extra warmth and insulation but its also a great way to protect your mat especially on bivvy camps where you haven't got the protection of a tent floor.

Overall, the Big Agnes TwisterCane Bio Foam Sleeping Mat is a solid option for anyone looking to boost the R-value of their inflatable pad while protecting it from punctures and wear. It’s a great way to combine comfort, warmth, and eco-consciousness into a versatile, 4-season sleeping system using your existing 3-season mat.
