The Frame-Pack RC Toptube is the solution for everyone who likes to have access to their water bottles while also carrying gear inside the bike frame triangle. This waterproof frame bag with roll closure is also ideal for full suspension mountain bikes, where space inside the frame’s triangle is limited by the shocks.
Part of ORTLIEB’s bikepacking series, this bag with roll closure meets the IP64 standard for waterproofness, meaning your gear is fully protected from an involuntary bath. The Frame-Pack RC Toptube enables heavy equipment such as tent poles, tools or food to be carried within the frame triangle, maintaining the bike’s low center of gravity. The customizable, sturdy and strong Velcro fasteners enable simple and easy fastening, and an uncomplicated installation. The frame pack RC Toptube is made in Germany and PVC-free.
Together with the other products from the ORTLIEB bikepacking series, the frame pack RC Toptube forms the ideal equipment for an overnighter, a self-supported race or your next big adventure. The bag includes a reflective Logo on both sides of the bag for increased visibility.

What we think
We used the Ortlieb Frame-Pack RC Toptube on a very wet bikepacking trip, and it proved to be one of those bits of kit you fit once and then forget. It kept everything bone dry through torrential downpours, and its rugged construction handled rough trails without a hitch.
One of the best things? It didn’t interfere with our bottles at all. Even with just 15cm of drop, there was still room for a standard cage setup - no side-entry cages needed. If you opt for the 4L version, it only drops 13cm thanks to a longer design, so still no compromises.
It sat incredibly secure in the frame, and those rubber loops with pull tabs made it super easy to hook shut - even with gloves on. The loops do stick out a little, which could catch a knee if you're not careful, but with a bit of repositioning, it’s avoidable.
The mounting system is versatile too. The top straps can be moved or removed completely to work around cable guides or other frame features. It’s a really well-thought-out design.
All in, it’s a brilliant use of space in the front triangle and a totally dependable companion when you're far from anywhere. -
