This footprint also enables you to pitch a lightweight, Fast Fly shelter while leaving the tent body behind. The Fast Fly configuration requires the footprint, tent fly, poles, and pegs.

WHAT WE THINK
The Copper Spur HV UL2 Bikepack Footprint is lightweight and compact, easily folding down to a size that fits neatly into your bikepacking kit. It provides full coverage of the tent floor, offering added protection against abrasive surfaces, sharp rocks, and wet ground, which is particularly important for bikepackers who often camp in rugged, remote areas. The footprint’s design is tailored to the tent’s shape, ensuring it fits perfectly and doesn’t shift or bunch up when setting up the shelter.
We’ve found that the footprint offers excellent durability and protection without adding significant weight. The tent’s floor can be quite thin, and without this extra layer, it can be vulnerable to punctures and abrasions, especially when pitched on rocky or uneven ground. The footprint acts as a buffer between the tent and the ground, preventing damage and helping to keep the tent floor dry. It also adds a bit of insulation, providing some extra comfort against cold or damp ground, which is a nice touch for bikepackers who spend long days on the trail. -
