WHAT WE THINK
We recently used the Common Gear Ultralight Bidet Cap while hiking the South Downs Way, and it turned out to be a surprisingly handy addition to our gear. On long-distance hikes like this one, where you’re out for days at a time, staying fresh can be a challenge, but the bidet cap made it much easier to maintain personal hygiene without adding unnecessary weight or bulk to our packs.
The key feature of the Bidet Cap is its ability to fit onto a 28mm thread disposable water bottle, which makes it incredibly lightweight and convenient for hiking. We used standard plastic bottles that we’d pick up along the way, and the cap easily screwed onto them, turning any bottle into a portable bidet. The setup is simple and quick: just fill up the bottle with water, screw on the cap, and you’re good to go. The stream of water isn’t as strong as a traditional bidet, but it’s more than sufficient for a refreshing clean-up during a break, especially after a long day of hiking.
We also really appreciated that the bidet cap is reusable and eco-friendly, making it a great alternative to wet wipes or other disposable hygiene products. Wet wipes can pile up quickly, adding unnecessary waste to the environment, but the Bidet Cap is a sustainable option that we could use over and over. This was particularly important to us as we hiked the South Downs Way, a trail that encourages responsible outdoor practices.
Overall, the Common Gear Ultralight Bidet Cap was a fantastic, lightweight, and eco-friendly addition to our hiking kit on the South Downs Way. It made staying fresh on the trail easier without weighing us down, and it was great to know that we weren’t adding to the usual waste of wet wipes.
